Google has introduced a new update that lets users track how their Instagram, TikTok, X & YouTube content performs in Google Search through Google Search Console. The feature brings social & video platform data into Search Console's Performance, Insights and Achievements reports, giving creators & businesses a clearer view of their search visibility. The rollout has started in phases globally, which means the feature is expected to become available for users in India over the coming weeks.
The rollout follows Google's earlier release of a help document about platform properties, which was briefly published & then removed. The document is now live again & explains how users can connect supported social media platforms to Search Console.
One of the most notable changes is that users can now verify platform properties even though they do not own the platform's domain. This is different from the traditional Search Console setup, where users could only verify websites they controlled.
Once a platform property is verified, Search Console provides access to several reports:
- Performance report: Displays clicks, impressions & other search metrics. Users can filter the data to identify which posts & search queries generate the most traffic. The data can also be exported for further analysis.
- Insights report: Offers a summary of recent traffic trends, top-performing posts & how people discover the account through Google Search.
- Achievements: Tracks milestones, such as reaching a new level of total clicks from Google Search during the past 28 days.
To connect a supported platform, users need to:
- First open Google Search Console.
- Then visit the verification page or select Add property from the property selector.
- Choose one of the available platforms: Instagram, TikTok, X or YouTube.
- Complete the on-screen verification process to authorize the account.
Google said the feature will roll out gradually over the coming weeks. Some users may not see the option immediately. However, at least one X profile has already appeared in Search Console without requiring manual verification.
Google had previously introduced a similar feature called Social channels in Search Console Insights in 2025. However, the new platform properties offer broader integration within Search Console. The company also clarified that this feature is separate from the recently launched Search profiles & Search profile insights.
Alongside the rollout, Google has updated its help documentation for adding website & platform properties to Search Console, reflecting the new verification process & reporting capabilities.
