Google is testing new buttons on its home page to encourage users to try its AI-powered search features.
The buttons appear below the main search box on the desktop version of Google. They include “Create images,” “Ask about files,” and “Brainstorm.” Clicking any of these options takes users into Google’s AI Mode.
Google confirmed that this is a limited desktop test. Robby Stein, Google’s VP of Product, said the test is designed to help people discover new things they can do with Search.
Google also clarified that the test does not change how the main search box works. Users can still enter a query and press Enter as they normally would.
The three new options are already available under the “+” icon on the left side of the search box. The new buttons appear to make these AI features more visible and easier for users to discover.
Why It Matters
Such testing could help Google to get more people using AI Mode and promote the various AI-related search tools which it offers. If Google expands the feature, these buttons could become a more prominent way for users to access AI features directly from the home page. To stay updated, get in touch with Vybepop Media.
